Gus seasonal outfits

 

Apologies once again for the extended absence. Things should hopefully be going smoother from here on out because I am now working with 1oxnes (who made some very nice SVE seasonal portraits) to finish the rest of the characters. It's a big help and also I'd feel bad for slacking off too much so it's good for motivation too.

Unrelated sidenote, of all the characters in the mod I think Gus and Willy are the ones people are freaked out by the most due to their hollow, soulless, and empty gazes that are devoid of hope. When I was drawing them my main inspiration for the eyes was actually Toriyama character designs like the Dragon Quest Slime, Mr. Popo, and Zen-Oh, so I didn't really think much about how it would be perceived. I've seen some interpret Gus in particular as having a dead stare due to having to deal with the endless nightmare that it must be to operate the saloon. As far as I'm concerned, that's the backstory I'm gonna go with now as well.

I'm almost done with this workshop/program thing I've been doing for the past month or so and I finished the Endwalker MSQ the other day (I'll still play FF a bit, but definitely not as much as I was when doing the story) so I'm back to these for now. I also managed to get a new computer so that might make this go a bit faster cause my old one was, well, pretty old.

Sorry for the long absence. I was feeling really burnt out on this mod so I've been taking a long break. To be honest I'm still not super enthusiastic about this so I can't promise or expect it to be done super soon; so if there's another long pause it's probably because of that. I do want to finish, mainly just because I'll feel more disappointed in myself if I drop it at this point. I can say right now that the seasonal outfits will be the last thing I do for this mod, unless a new update is added to Vanilla - but I'm thinking with the announcement of Haunted Chocolatier that sounds unlikely. I have some other things I would like to work on and I don't want to be chained to this project forever. That being said, I am glad and grateful that people have enjoyed this mod and have supported me for the past almost-two years.

I have been able to draw more personal work this past while so that's been really nice. I also started playing FFXIV during this time so I definitely had a lot of stuff distracting me from this.
